Links to messages from Bertha Dudde follow to the subject "Pretend".
The purpose of this webpage can be demonstrated by an example. Now follows an excerpt from a letter:
For your information, I am catholic Christian, But I am also a great reader of Lobber ( I bought and read every single book available in French). I red Bertha Dudde ( Not easy to read each one of the 9030 communications).
I know these are not readings known or encouraged in the catholic environment, but they strengthened very much my faith. I was especially happy to read a lot about the act of salvation plan from Bertha Dudde.
I read quite every day Bertha Dudde and I learnt a lot from that prophet ( for me there is no doubt, she is)
Now in the reply to this letter the existing problems were pointed out to the man of trying to be a Catholic and a Christian at the same time and examples from the writings of the Bible and of Lorber and of Dudde were given to demonstrate this. Now in his reply this man not only defended his membership in his sect, but even made several statements promoting the denomination he belongs to. A man can be a Christian and a member of a man-made organization, but that should be a temporary state, and the more the man grows and matures spiritually the more he should become aware of the problematic situation he is in and therefore begin to the process of separation from something that is not clean.
So belonging to a denomination can be alright, but only when it is a temporary belonging. When this membership is intended as being a permanent arrangement, then the seriousness of such a person must be doubted.
Now come some spiritual principles in this regard - from 3237:
But a man can now be deeply believing and fully convinced to stand in truth, also his life walk is in accordance with the will of God but he is not able to spread pure truth as servant of God because he does not own it himself because he does not ask and desires answers and expects them, but thinks himself to be the bearer of truth, and therefore erroneous thinking cannot be corrected. But who clings to this spiritual material taken over from men and not even considers the thought that also error can have been imparted to him, to him deep knowledge cannot be given because he would not let it be regarded as truth, but infers to erroneous givers, when it does not agree with his old knowledge.
Arrival at the destination. Love. Will.
8. January 1951. B.D. NR. 5036.
But this simple way of love, which indeed does not exclude the thorny properties, do not all men go, and nevertheless they strive for me will wise. Also they arrive at their aim, because the will to me is guarantee. They want, and I bless their will and therefore they do, what appears necessary to them to the gaining of eternal life. They remain loyal to the teachings and instructions, which were indicated to them as way upwards by men, who pass themselves off as guides upwards. They do not break away from the ceremony, but always in the belief, to act pleasing to me through this. But they are nevertheless on the right way, although this is not conceivable to them without outer signs. Every man, who strives upwards, arrives at the destination. And so let no-one be put off by the other, whose will is serious, to establish the coming together with me. I know about the will of every individual and bless, who turn it to me. But my blessing means giving of favour, therefore help in every way, that my creatures reach the aim, that they find to me as my right children and are accepted by my father love, because I myself long for the unification to make my children happy for ever.
Many ways - One aim. Right members of the church.
25. January 1951. B.D. NR. 5049.
I only pay attention to one thing, and that is of importance, how far their faith is a living one that they confess Jesus Christ with the mouth, does not yet place them into the flock of mine, but that they are true Christians, who lead a life in the following of Jesus and because of that have reached a living faith; that is decisive to be counted to my small flock, which shepherd I am. And as long as the communities fight one another, they also lack this living faith, because they then also lack cognition, what I understand under the church founded by me. Right members of this my church understand each other, although they belong to different denominations and schools of thought; right members seek each other and are happy having found each other, and right members are standing in most intimate connection with me myself, because they long for my word and also recognize it as right food and right drink.
Symbol of the church of Christ: Spirit work.
19. July 1951. B.D. NR. 5174.
The church of Christ is no organization; it is the joining together of all spiritually striving men of all denominations, believing in Jesus Christ and his work of redemption and living in love, because not the latter prove their belonging to that church, but the spirit, which speaks out of those men, who belong to it. This must also be comprehensible to you that it can never ever be enough for God, when a man joins this or the other faith direction, according to the name or also impressed through customs and traditions, as every individual organisation (denomination?) shows, but that God only judges the conviction of a man and it can be in every denomination so or so, i.e. more or less according to the will of God, more or less paying attention to the divine commands. And still this alone is decisive, who is allowed to be counted to the church of Christ whether the spirit out of God has also been awakened in man through a love life. The church of Christ is a pure spiritual organization, which makes no concessions to the world at all; which is only based on the soul life of a man, on the conscious will to reach the spiritual aim, which is set for man on earth. The church of Christ unites all believing, i.e. inwardly convinced followers of Jesus, who make the divine love teaching to the law of life for them, who acknowledge the work of redemption of Christ and know no other striving, than to develop the power of the spirit through conscious joining together with him who are therefore illuminated by the divine spirit, what will always be regarded as proof of the belonging to his church. The church of Christ needs no other feature outwardly to be recognized as his true church, which he himself has founded on earth, than just the spiritual rebirth, which is proved through the expression of the divine spirit in man. And it is again recognizable through enlightened thinking, through recognition of truth, recognition of the purpose of life of man, through strong faith and the unusual effect emerging out of this, may it be in healing of the sick, in the turning away of great earthly need, in the flowing in of the divine word or in commanding the elements for the use of the neighbour. A power will then always emerge, which is of divine origin, so man has reached the spiritual rebirth, and he also belongs to the church of Christ, which stands outside of all church organizations, but can count men of all denominations as its members. It is a spiritual community of all deeply believing men, and its head is Jesus Christ himself, with whom each one member must get into intimate contact, to be received into his church. Because his church is something alive; it is no dead form, which exists according to the name before the world, but has no spirit in it. His church is build up on a living faith, which has been awakened to life through love. For that reason love and faith is the first condition to belong to this his church, why also in every denomination those men belong to his church, who stand in living faith, which has emerged out of love for God and for the neighbour. All these men Jesus Christ unites in his church founded on earth, and he also honours them with the gifts of the spirit according to maturity, ability and determination of their activity on earth for his kingdom. Wherever the spirit of God works, there stands a pillar of his church, which is and remains unconquerable until all eternity. Amen. B.D. NR. 5174.
The alone beatifying church.
4. August 1952. B.D. NR. 5456.
From every church or intellectual direction can certainly emerge true members of my church, for only faith and love determine this; but a man can never belong to this my church, who cannot show the signs of it my spirit work, which has faith and love as foundation.
But where is the spirit work in that church, which calls itself "alone beatifying"? My spirit can certainly also blow there; but then the connection with my church must have preceded, for alone I pour out my spirit, and always only there, where the conditions are fulfilled, which result in the work of my spirit. And there also the true church of Christ will be recognizable, for no matter what action is taken against men, who belong to it, they will not be able to be overcome or pushed away, an no matter whether hell itself takes action against it it is unconquerable, because it is my work because it alone is the spiritual church, which leads to happiness, because in it can be no pretence Christians, since these exclude themselves from a community of believers and for that reason are also no real Christ confessors and believing supporters of my name, when they are put to the test.
And then it will also be shown, how little the church keeps, what it promises, which calls itself the alone beatifying one how all those will secede, who certainly belonged to it, but not to my church; who now recognize their unfoundedness, but not the spiritual value of that church, which is founded on that faith, which has the strength of a Peter.
Blessing father words.
8. September 1952. B.D. NR. 5482.
Win your fellowmen over to me and my kingdom; impart those words to them, which you receive from me, and form among yourselves a believing community; be members of that church, which I myself have found on earth; which is based on a firm unshakable faith.
Real Christianity.
4. and 5. December 1952. B.D. NR. 5547.
For with the idea Christianity it is never about faith in the existence of Jesus; it is because of that that man lives so, as Jesus Christ has lived on earth, to be able to have the name rightly. For that reason no real Christianity is any longer in the world, despite churches and faith teachings, for the spirit of Christ is lacking.
For these men Jesus Christ died in vain on the cross, and they still call themselves Christians. None of them makes the meaning clear for himself; none of them makes an effort, to be a real Christian, and many Christians look contemptuously down on those men, who are in their eyes heathen or unbelievers, because they do not belong to an official church or community.
Formalities, rituals. Right worship.
6.1.1953. B.D. NR. 5571a.
Seek the core and do not enjoy the shell. How urgently I would like to urge you men to do this, that all formalities do not get you one step further, that only your inner life has to be awakened, that you can only then show a spiritual success when you strive spiritually. And as long as the external is still worth something to you, as long as you are still captivated by rituals, so long you cannot yet be introspective, because as soon as you direct your spiritual eye inwards, all externals have an effect on you like shades, you close the eyes and turn away from external splendour and ceremonial acts, because you then see the right light inside, which goes out from myself, which I arouse in every man who truly strives inside, who makes an effort to establish the right union with me, who now works on himself - who earnestly and truly seeks me. From him I let myself be found, and he will then also understand why I want to be called upon in spirit and in truth. But bear in mind that my kingdom is not of this world. So what still belongs to this world is a barrier to the spiritual world, to my kingdom, where material things no longer exist; Bear in mind that all matter is still controlled by him who rules in the world, and that it is his effort to offer you glitter and splendour, matter which blinds the eyes, to darken me to you through it, to keep you away from true spiritual striving; bear in mind that he makes use of everything which is still his part, to endanger you.
I cannot be found there where I am announced in a way which is just idolatry, because the idol is paid tribute to which still animates all matter.
Formalities, rituals. Right worship.
7.1.1953. B.D. NR. 5571b.
But what goes beyond this, what does not accord with my love teaching, what is felt by men as burden, because it touches the free will of men everything, what contradicts my simple way of life on earth, what further was added to my divine love commands, causes my displeasure and is not suitable to train true members of the church, which I myself have founded on earth.
Spirit work in all schools of thought. Right representatives.
6.5.1953. B.D. NR. 5669.
For that reason in all schools of thoughts can be right representatives, as soon as the announcers of my teaching are so intimately connected with me that my presence is secured and then also pure truth is guaranteed. For then they will only be able to speak in my spirit; they will say nothing about, what has crept in as error; they will then always take that as content of their speaking, what is completely in accordance with truth, because it is my spirit, which leads them. For that reason there are in all schools of thought, in all denominations, powerful speakers, who address the heart of men, who have success with those, who are of good will. They announce with eagerness the word of God; they are convinced disciples, who bring my Gospel out into the world. But they also live in love; otherwise my spirits work in them is impossible. This is the sign, whether a man is a right announcer of my teaching that he himself practises love; that he is so radiated through of love for me and the neighbour that I myself can be present in him and he is for that reason a suitable tool for me.
Note to B.D. NR. 5669:One example of such a person in a denomination, who is a powerful speaker and who speaks in God's spirit, is a woman, who addresses in a Sunday School the children so that she awakens them to life.
In this message from Bertha Dudde it is not said that such a person holds a leading position in such a school of thought. It is not even said that she is a member there.
Another example are Paul and Silas, who went into the synagogue of the Jews in Berea and these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed. Acts 17:10-12
Therefore one cannot use this message from Bertha Dudde to justify a continues membership in a denomination.
Church of Christ. Living faith.
6. April 1954 B.D. NR. 5923.
And he will also recognize, what divine and what human teachings are - he will always let the divine teachings become more the principles of life and not pay attention to human teachings - he will feel it, in which my will exists, although he is caused to acts by the human side, which never ever bear my will in them. He stands on the rock, which bears my church, and he no longer walks on a ground, into which he threatens to sink. He only represents pure truth, for life is in him, and therefore also his striving belongs to life, and he flees death - and he avoids everything, what belongs to death, what is unsuitable for the awakening of real life. He rejects the error and the lie, because truth brightly illuminates them.
